This umbrella is exactly what I needed! It's large enough to shade my patio, and I can rotate and adjust it as needed to block the sun as it's setting. Very sturdy, and looks nice decorated with lights that I added. The stand it comes with isn't strong enough to hold it, so you need to buy a water/sand fillable stand. It's gotten windy a few times, and the post doesn't move an inch. The umbrella itself sways with the wind, but never enough for me to be concerned.

This umbrella is easy to assemble and easy to operate. When I received the umbrella a couple of parts were missing the dealer responded very quickly and sent me the parts needed. We have used and enjoyed the umbrella daily. A sturdy base or proper anchoring is highly recommended. The included cover is great to help preserve the umbrella when stored. I would highly recommend this umbrella. The black looks great, makes a great statement.

I have had a series of yard umbrellas and I like this Purple leaf umbrella the best. The tilt function is so easy to use and there is a crank to rotate the canopy. I am not as strong as I used to be but thIs old lady can operate it without a problem. I bought the base, also. It is staying put during afternoon breezes. Customer service has been great. I would definite buy another of these if a tornado takes it away (that is what happened to my old one). My backyard looks like a tropical resort and I enjoy the shade provided by my big Purple leaf umbrella. I am sitting under it as I write this. It’s 80 degrees and perfect today.

This is the third purple leaf umbrella I have purchased in the last year for a large patio area and I have just ordered a forth. They are incredibly durable, wind resistant and easy to use as long as you purchase a large enough base (sold separately). I use them with the base that is 39" x 39" filled with water and can leave them up in wind that other umbrellas could have never survived. I don't know what the max wind is that they can withstand but they have been fine in any wind that I have wanted to be outside in. When down and secured with the strap in the stand they have withstood 30 mph wind gusts easily. I highly recommend this umbrella.

I bought a 13' and an 11' with the in-ground base. Base is VERY sturdy. Umbrella holds up even in decent winds (thought I would recommend closing in strong winds just to be safe!) VERY easy to open, close and adjust - can do it in seconds with only one hand! Would HIGHLY recommend - would NEVER even think about building another patio without installing these!!

I bought two Purple Leaf Umbrellas and a base, one for a round table and the other to provide shade for my patio seating area. I chose Purple Leaf as a friend told me about the Sunbrella fabric used for the umbrellas and how they wont fade. I wanted sturdy well made umbrellas, not the flimsy cheap ones that you have to replace often. These are Amazing and SO well made. I am completely satisfied and get complements on the large one pictured as it tilts super easy as the sun moves to cover my seating area on my patio. The base is filled with water and stabilizes the umbrella perfectly. tilt and close - SUPER SMOOTH! Highly recommend this product! LOVE THEM!

We liked the first Purple Leaf umbrella so much we ordered a second one. The second umbrella was missing some parts and looked slightly used. Purple Leaf customer service was excellent. At first they told me to return it but for me that was too much trouble. So they gave me a discount and promptly mailed the missing parts. The umbrellas are wonderful. It pays to get the extra bases. I filled them with water and unlike cheap umbrellas I had in the past, these sturdy purple leaf umbrellas don’t blow away during heavy downpours and high winds during thunderstorms. These umbrellas are worth the money if you want an umbrella that blocks the sun and doesn’t blow away.

This is the perfect umbrella for us. We live on a river just above the Chesapeake Bay. It is oftentimes very windy. This is an ideal size and extraordinary quality for our pool. After trying 8 other umbrellas and numerous stands we are totally satisfied with this purchase

We live a block from the ocean and half a block from the bay, so we get a lot of wind. I bought this and a 9 foot umbrella to use by the pool. I also purchased a 34" by 34" purple leaf water/sand base for each (I reviewed these on Amazon, there are minor issues with these). I filled the bases with water, not sand. The assembly of the umbrellas is intuitive, but it is a good idea to review the instructions first. These umbrellas are big so they catch every breeze that comes along -- the 34x34 bases are essential unless you live somewhere with practically no wind. While they sway in a moderate breeze, they hold. Due to the size, they get a little scary in higher winds -- we simply unwind the umbrellas in such cases. My guess is that we could find sturdier umbrellas and bases, but would probably pay at least twice the price. I would definitely recommend these umbrellas. We are very pleased with our purchase.

We had three patio umbrellas this summer that went sailing out of there holders when we had some wind. We decided to go for it and get this umbrella. It is in such a different class as anything we have had before. It is sturdy, heavy duty and adjustable. We had long wished for a shade tree for the southwest corner of our home. This umbrella with its 11 ft umbrella shade the entire patio area when the sun gets to be the hottest. Wish we had bought this several years ago.
